UNAKOTI HILLS



Located 178 kms from Agartala, in the Kailashahar subdivision of North Tripura.

Has a 30 feet Shiva figure carved out of a single vertical rock face.

Has other rock-cut and stone images of Vishnu, Nandi, Narasimha, Ravana, Hanuman and several unidentified deities.

Sculptures influenced by several cults like Tantric, Shakti and Hatha yogis.

Dates back to the 7th –9th century.

Centre of Shaiba pilgrimage.

The Ashokastami Festival takes place in April when thousands of pilgrims flock here.
